In the past few days I have read on both the BogeyLounge and on GolfPunk Online, that new technology in putters is making the company Pinfire Golf a world leader in designing and manufactureing the worlds “finest putters.”
How can a single putter be so much better than another. All a putter is designed to do is to help a golfer be able to put the ball into the hole – and the hole is at a fairly close distance at that.
I mean, a piece of metal could do as good a job (just not as consistantly). I certainly understand about balance in the head of a club, and a smooth face, but putters with these features have been constructed for decades. How can ‘new technology in putters’ be so much different from the old ones.
If these new Pinfire Putters can take shots off my scorecard every game, then they are certainly worth while, but my question to you is: will they do it?

Trackback by BogeyLounge September 5, 2006 @ 3:14 pmI had struggled with the putter for quite a while. I tried different putters, grips, stances and techniques. A buddy of mine bought a YES C-groove putter and when I tried it I noticed a different feel and roll to the ball. I bought the Tracy model off of ebay and my putting has improved dramatically. I firmly believe technology has improved my putting. The YES putter took me a little while to get used to, different feel of the ball coming off the head, but after I found the sweet spot I was nailing my line consistently. I haven’t tried the Pinfire Putter but I’m definately open minded about trying any new technology and giving it a chance to improve my game. I firmly believe it can.

Comment by zantor September 7, 2006 @ 7:07 amI bought a Pinfire putter after seeing great reviews over here in Golf Punk. I liked the idea of a putter that stays online through the stroke due the balanced weighting and the claims are true. I think the design and weighting affects how easily the putter head moves off the ideal line. Apparently with these because theyre made of different material means they can create a shape which helps the stroke but not add too much weight. I always struggled pulling putts but now with the Pinfire all I think about is rocking my shoulders and letting the putter head do the work with no twisting at impact. The fact they look pretty cool with nice colours is just a bonus. Id never buy a putter just for looks. Its about getting the ball in the hole and finding a putter that gives you confidence in your stroke.

Comment by oneputt72 November 8, 2006 @ 7:54 pmI have a heel shaft Liberty in Blue. I love it!!
Best putters ive seen for years and beat scotty camerons and odysseys hands down on performance alone. Visually took some getting used to but never felt so confident inside 10 feet. I have a centre shaft liberty and got a great deal (ask for elizabeth at pinfire uk!)
